Preparations

The countdown begins...
One month exactly until I leave for Copenhagen.  I can't begin to describe how excited I am! I've only been to Europe once for a mere 10 days to France and that in itself was quite the experience.  Now to have 4 whole months abroad...who knows of all the possibilities!!! Everyone that I have talked to that has been to Copenhagen talked so passionately about their experience.  I can't wait to live every second of it! I know I will have a great deal to post throughout my studies and travels in Europe.  Hopefully this blog will help me relive it (unfortunately only through memory) when all said and done.

Over the past couple of months I have been slowly but surely preparing.  One of the first things that I wanted to do was improve my photography skills.  So what does every photographer need? A camera.  After a month (yes a month it was a big decision! Plus I'm horrible at making them) of researching types of cameras that fit my criteria: functions of a DSLR without the bulk, but a little more advanced than a point and shoot, that wasn't outrageously expensive; I finally bought an Olympus PEN-1.  So the past semester I have been practicing my photo skills; we will see how they do for me to graphically capturing my experience abroad.
In early November studying abroad became more of a reality for me when I booked my flight. I don't think it will turn into a complete reality until I land in Denmark.  I've checked off everything that needed to be done, now starts the mental preparation.

Goals for the next month

  1. learn some basic danish-learn a phrase a day
  2. catch up on current events
  3. learn more about Denmark and Copenhagen
  4. figure out how to pack 4 months in one suitcase
  5. buy a new winter coat-(maybe do this in Denmark)
Anything else?
